The Fryer Engine is a quirky and eye catching 1975 Mercedes Benz LAF 113 German fire engine converted into a purpose built catering truck. Although mainly geared up for festivals due to the ability to produce high output top quality food, it is also suitable for private hire events, parties and weddings.

The Fryer Engine has traded at events including Glastonbury, Electric Picnic, Wilderness and many more.

A unique addition to the festival scene, Bella has less than 30k miles on the clock and is fully drivable. She has taken us all over the UK. A custom made intercooler was fitted in 2019 which contributes to the power, including a Tubular manifold and stainless steel exhaust system.

The kitchen / serving area (fire engine) is fitted with:-

• A custom built 3m long under counter fridge
• 4 twin tank LPG gas fryers with cool zones
• Large extraction canopy
• Gas interlock system
• A custom made chip scuttle
• Large Zebrano wooden serving counter
• Electric 4 pot Bain Marie
• Stainless steel hand wash basin with low amp electric water heater
• 3kw inverter with a total of 900 amp hours of battery storage and 120 amp 24v battery
charger.

Gas and Electric equipment is fully tested and certificated until October 2024 and is currently rated 5* Hygiene Rated.

Bella is a 4 x 4 which means that while everyone else is sinking in the mud during a wet Glastonbury you get to stay dry working 3’ off the ground. The cooking area is also fitted with a grid style floor to allow for plenty of ventilation during the hot sunny weather.

Kitchen Preparation Trailer (WOMAP)

This is a 2019 model 5.25m soft curtain trailer (the sides can be rolled up for plenty of ventilation), fully fitted out with the following kit which is in very clean excellent condition:

• 3 door stainless steel fridge counter top fridge
• Blue Seal oven with gas burner hob
• Bold stainless steel Rumbler
• Bold stainless steel Chipper
• Washing up station with large sink
• LPG Burco water boiler
• Hose system
• Bold batter mixer
• 6 pot LPG Bain Marie.

Again, WOMAP takes you off the ground and marries up alongside Bella to form a walk in/out kitchen to the main serving area, requiring minimum set up upon arrival at events.

Food

The Fryer Engine is set up for and has specialised in battered chips since 2017, accompanying other food offerings including chicken curry, pulled meats and other toppings which have proved hugely popular. Our customers can vouch for how amazing the battered chips are and how much they are missed.

The Fryer Engine’s Facebook page currently has in excess of 2k likes and followers.
To help get you started, other equipment comes with the vehicle sale. In excess of 60 various sized gastronorms, pots/pans/lids, 47kg gas bottles, soup kettles for gravy/curry sauce, packaging plus more….
